| Q1 |
A
brief presentation of Scanbull Software. |
| A1 |
Details
about our new 3D scanware:
- a new graphical user interface
- an automatic exemption/separation of the basic prototype exposures
- 3D-processing/preparation tools implemented in the scanware
- a new merging technique for a much better outcome/results
- a very compact storage of the scan projects
- an extremely extended camera list (e.g. support of webcams)
- a new 3D format X3M including Direct X- and MS Office-compatibility. |

|
| Q2 |
What
are the new products that Scanbull will annonce during the Cebit? |
| A2 |
A
brand new 3D software generation: X3M (pronounced: extreme)
& Spellbound; an introduction of a software which is able
to transfer 3D objects, 3D shops and complete 3D malls to usual
mobile phones. |
| |
|
| Q3 |
What
are the benefits of using Scanware X3M for creating 3D models? |
| A3 |
Less
time is needed to finish the scan process successfully through
an automatic textural process & the designing/styling of
the object in just one step. |
| |
|
| Q4 |
Is
it possible to "scan" every kind of shapes (complex
objects, organic surfaces, transparent surfaces)? |
| A4 |
Yes. |
| |
|
| Q5 |
Is
it possible to specify the texture resolution and the mesh precision
of the 3D object? |
| A5 |
Texture
resolution & mesh precision depend on the chosen camera
& software version. |
| |
|
| Q6 |
3D
Model made with scaning methods are considered much more complicate
to animate (open a door of a car...), is it true ? |
| A6 |
Not
necessarily; different single parts of the object will be scanned
separately, put together again and will be animated. |
| |
|
| Q7 |
What
are the formats avialable in inport/export? Is it possible to
use ScanWare with a DCC programm such as 3DS Max ? |
| A7 |
No
formats for inport - that wouldn't make any sense, cause the
other way round, from the outcome back to the beginning won't
be possible. Formats for export: X3M 3D format, 3DS and SPX,
able for usual modelling programs.
Part two of Q7: Yes. |
| |
|
| Q8 |
What
are the features of the new X3M format? What are the differences
with the SPX format? |
| A8 |
based
on direct X, X3M is completely Windows/MS Office compatible.
X3M is eligible for stereoscopic HMD-presentation, multi media
and joystick sound data use.
Part
two of Q8: In 1998/99 it was the target to create a data format
for the internet - that was the hour of birth of SPX. But
technical reasons were blocking a further development of SPX
after 1999. Subsequently X3M has come alive. |
| |
|
| Q9 |
Is
there any license fees for displaying the contents on the web?
Have you any Java based version of your player? |
| A9 |
Completed
offered objects will be charged; all existing objects belong
to the producer's copyright.
Part two of Q9: Yes.
|
| |
|
| Q10 |
What
is Spellbound? |
| A10 |
A
program to create 3D scan scenes; import: 3d scans for scanware
or other modelling programs - export: X3M and other usual 3D
formats in mobile phones. |
| |
|
| Q11 |
What
are the objectives of Scanbull in the mobile market? |
| A11 |
It
is the ScanBull-philosophy to create a 3D internet, not only
through the PC but with a usual mobile phone too. The key is
that everyone can get a much higher conceptual definition of
products through a comprehensible self-illustrative 3D presentation
on the cellphone display - no matter of time and space. To shrink
the rate per each 3D system to a lowest level of approximately
100 € is another target of ScanBull - to ensure the producing
of content and the using of our software for every user. |
| |
|
| Q12 |
In
the field of performances and data transfert, is it realistic
to display 3D models on todays mobile phone? |
| A12 |
Yes,
no problem. |
| |
|
| Q13 |
Does
your 3D engine use Java JSR184 or OpenGL ES specifications? |
| A13 |
No,
we are focusing direct X as a better solution. OpenGL ES will
eventually be planned for Spellbound. |
